Welcome to Meridian Writing - Short story writing competitions
Latest News
As some of you know who we've been able to contact and that have been in contact with us, we've had a great many issues of late being able to update this site. This was beyond our influence and we can only apologise for any annoyance or frustration this may have caused.
We have chosen the three winners - in fact we chose them two weeks' ago - and now that we're able to update the site here they are:
1st place - The Girl with the Bright Yellow Plait and the Boy with the Blue Eyes by Mandy Huggins
2nd place - A Birthday Trip by Laurence Edmondson
3rd place - The Alchemical Marriage by Elizabeth Richards
Now ... as a direct result of the issues which we've faced over the last couple of weeks we've decided to call it a day on Meridian Writing. The technical issues which our provider has continually been foisting upon us had made our quarterly competitions untenable, and has made us appear unprofessional.
All entry fees for our 'summer' competition will be returned as soon as possible.
We apologise once more for any frustration caused over the last two weeks or so.
Thanks for everyone who has entered our competitions over the last four years and those who've requested a critique.

Our founder's latest novel - Tiberius Found - is now available on the Kindle.

"On his sixteenth birthday Daniel Henstock's parents are murdered and he discovers that his life, so far, has been a lie. He's been genetically engineered and those responsible want him back.
To survive Daniel has to run. And run hard. But it was never going to be easy or simple.
When his liberator is captured Daniel returns and puts his life on the line to re-pay the debt."
Tiberius Found is a YA action/adventure novel written in a similar vein to Anthony Horwitz's Alex Rider stories ... Alex Rider crossed with Jason Bourne, that is.
Tiberius Found is £1.54 and may be found on Amazon UK here. It's also available across the Amazon territory network, so check out your local Kindle store.
Cover art is by Julie Cuthbert
